About Me
Who am I? I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints although I don't presume to speak for the Church in any way. Check out http://mormon.org/ for any questions you have. I am a mom of eight kids and I homeschool as well as send some to public school. Some days I wouldn't trade my life for the world and some days I just want to hide. I love my life dearly and I want a vacation. Although I recently went on vacation and when I came home, I wondered where my vacation went.
On these pages you'll see what my kids are doing in school each week, different recipes that interest me, and random thoughts. I will try to be real. Many days we don't get most of the stuff that I would like to do, done. Some days it all runs like clockwork. Some days the dishes in the sink get done and some days they don't. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into my life.

The Chicks
I don't feel totally comfortable posting the kids' names on the internet so I will introduce you to their aliases. Some may change but for now, here they are. . .
Racer - 15 years old and thinks he knows it all. So often he is right, but I have to remind him that I am actually the adult and I will take care of the discipline and the bossing in the family. A typical oldest child with tons of energy.
Chicklette - Our first girl. 13 years old and loves to run and play. She is bright and nurturing and we feel lucky to have her.
Turtle - 11 years old and a quiet little kid. I have to remember to watch him to make sure he's getting the attention he needs. Sensitive and slow to warm up to situations, but full of love and devotion.
Sunshine - Our 8-year-old. He is full of life and sunshine and friendliness. He has a hi for everyone. Whenever someone comes home from an activity, he runs to them and gives them huge hugs. He is so happy to see people and considers everyone a new friend. Just wait till he tilts his head and looks at you from under his eyelashes. You will fall in love.
Cheez-it (formerly Bubbers #1) - Our first twin. What a shock when we found out we were having twins. I was nearly catatonic, but they have given us so much joy and amazement so far. Bubbers #1 is calm and easygoing and a better sleeper and eater than Bubbers #2. I had to change his name because he has the cheesiest smile and personality. He is 7 now.
Bubbers #2 - He is more of a babbler than Bubbers #1 although Bubbers #1 is a little quicker at physical development. The Bubbers are 7 years old now.
Kitten - Our Twin A from our second set of twins. She was born at 3 lbs. 13 oz. and had lots of breathing difficulties when she was born. She is still a petite princess. She is now 4.
Chubbers - Twin B from our second set of twins. Okay, so he's not really that chubby and maybe I will change his nickname sometime, but in comparison to Kitten, he looks like a chunk. He is also 4.
